Initial Response To Chosen Brief.

I have selected to do my coursework this year on the brief that requires me to make a extract from a documentary which lasts 5 minutes. I have to create 2 other pieces along side my documentary and these can be;

Radio Trailer for the documentary.

Double-page spread from a listings magazine focused in the documentary.

Newspaper Advertisement for the documentary.

For my ancillary tasks I am going to do the double page spread from a listings magazine because I would like to be able to write about my project and give text because people may not fully understand the angle I am going for within my documentary. Also, I think that people would read about it and it would make them watch it.

For the second ancillary task I am going to do the newspaper advertisement so I can put my photo-shop skills to use. I will create a film like poster which will need to catch peoples attention and make them want to watch the documentary- I want it to be informative about what the documentary is about but I am going to use the east words as possible. I would like to be able to use a strong image to get the point across of what the doc is about.    

Above are my ideas for my documentary, I think I am going to be doing idea 1 about the body imagine, I have decided to do this because I feel as if i can connect with the topic as I am a teenager and have to face the affects of social media and the insecurities of body imagine. 

I created a mood board of what I can imagine my documentary to include or feature. As you can see  I am going for the idea of body image within the doc. I would like to do it on how women are effected by the media and the expectations of them to be like the supermodels in the world. This can involve the way in which photos of women are photo shopped in magazines and  how they're portrayed as being the perfect size when it is not realistic. It also could be how people have lip fillers and use make-up because they do not feel confident enough with themselves.

I want to get some other girls involved and older women, I would like to interview them and ask them questions about how they feel about the way that the girls feel and how they think it should be.

Due to being unable to do my documentary as I had no material and found it very difficulty. I have now decided to do a magazine instead of doing a documentary. It is still going to have the same ideas about body image and how women are effected by the media, but I will be exploring it in a completely different way.
I am going to be producing a magazine with realistic body images in.
